Windows RDP or Linux VPS: which should I choose?
Windows RDP gives you a full Windows Server desktop that you open with Remote Desktop. Choose it for Windows programs such as MetaTrader, Tally, browsers, office software and anything with a graphical interface. The Windows licence is included in the price and you get full Administrator access.
Linux VPS is a server you manage from a terminal over SSH, with full root access. Choose it for websites, APIs, databases, Docker, bots and developer tools. Linux has no licence fee, so it costs less.
Available systems: Windows Server 2019, 2022 and 2025; Ubuntu 24.04 and 22.04, Debian 12, AlmaLinux 9 and CentOS Stream 9. Read the full comparison: RDP vs VPS.
